“Taner, make me a drink!”
This is a variation of what I hear every time my friends get together; I have become the bartender of my friend group. While I may not have any form of training, I apparently make one mean drink. I mean I’ll say it, I make one hell of a mean drink. The immense amount of options you have, the different colors you can make, and the ability to turn a terrible burning sensation into a delicious buzz if you just use a little creativity. I strangely enjoyed watching random bartenders make me drinks and the sometimes cringe moves they would do to mix it up. I thought, I can do that.
Want to know some of my favorites? I’m so glad you asked!
1. Lauren’s Tequila Water
16oz of water
However many limes you want
1, 2, hell make it 3 shots of Jose Cuervo Tradicional
2. Ashley’s G&T
16oz of Tonic Water (Harris Teeter brand is great)
2 shots of Hendricks Gin
Lots of lime (and don’t forget the ice)
3. Addie Daddy’s Jack & Coke
Obviously, Jack Daniels
Coca-Cola
Slice of Lime (make it icy)
4. John’s Concoction
Fresh Lemonade
Peach Mango Seltzer Water
1 Shot of Gin
2 Shots of Pineapple infused Vodka (Tito’s is our favorite)
Add your ice, and if you’re feeling fancy add some fresh strawberries
While these are not the most elaborate drinks I have made, they are friend-favorites. Try these at home, and please let me know which was your favorite. Every professional needs to unwind every so often, responsibly of course!
