While keeping the 5 Exemplary Practices of Leadership in mind: Model the Way, Inspire a Shared Vision, Challenge the Process, Enable Others to Act, and Encourage the Heart, my first step in continuing to develop my leadership consists of taking more time for myself. I know that sounds selfish or even unprofessional for some, but while my goal is to uplift others while uplifting myself; I must take more time for reflection. Without doing this, I am contradicting my own value of growth; without reflection, there cannot be much.

As graduation approaches, I also plan to continue to learn more about how to be a better leader through the workplace and volunteering. Even though I will no longer be attending formal class (or Zoom), I like to think of the world as one giant classroom where we learn many subjects that often intersect. I aim to make use of my experiences as lessons and serve as a mentor to those around me. I feel like the best way to leave a mark on the world is to share the power of knowledge with others, and hope they will continue the cycle by planting that seed in those that come after.

While I know I will always be in the creative field, I see involvement in education, real estate, business, and grassroots organizing in my near future. While my many interests, goals, and aspirations do not always directly relate to one another, they all have one thing in common: making life better for more than just myself.
